Nearly invisible — most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.

How It Works

Gradual movement. Visible results.

SureSmile uses a series of custom clear plastic trays to gradually shift teeth into their ideal position. Each tray is worn about 20–22 hours per day for 1–2 weeks before advancing to the next. Because they’re removable, you eat, drink, brush, and floss exactly as normal.

Treatment starts with a digital scan — no messy impressions. You see a projected end result before committing. Check-ins are typically every 6–8 weeks.

  • Custom-fitted — not a generic tray

  • Nearly invisible when worn

  • Removable for meals and oral hygiene

  • Managed by Dr. Gao throughout — no orthodontist referral

  • Most cases complete in a few months to about a year

Is This Right for You?

What aligners can — and can’t — do.

Clear aligners work well for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and certain bite issues. They work best for patients who are committed to wearing the trays 20–22 hours daily.

For more complex cases, aligners may not be the right tool — and if that’s the case, we’ll say so. A consultation is the best way to find out where you stand.

Checking your options starts with a conversation — no commitment required. Call (512) 345-1140 and we’ll set it up.

Common Questions

What patients want to know first.

  • Both are clear aligner systems that work on the same principle. SureSmile is the system we’re trained and equipped to provide. Results are comparable; the main difference is that your treatment stays with Dr. Gao throughout — no switching between providers.

  • Most cases take anywhere from a few months to about a year. We give you a projected timeline upfront so you know what to expect before you begin.

  • Yes — a retainer keeps your teeth in position after treatment. We fit you for one at the end of your aligner treatment. Wearing it as directed is the key to lasting results.

  • Some PPO plans include orthodontic benefits that may apply. We check your coverage during the consultation and walk you through costs before you decide anything.
